DMX began rapping in the latter part of the 1990s. He debuted his debut album It's Hot and Hell was Dark May 19, 1998. The album was followed by other releases such as... And Then There Was X and the Great Depression Year of the Dog... Redemption of the Beast, Grand Champ. The album, titled...And It was X was nominated by The Grammy in 2001 for Best Rap Album in 2001. Apart from his rap endeavors he had also appeared in films such as Lords of the Street Belly Top Five Exit Wounds That Will Never Let You Go Alone the Bleeding Romeo must die Backstage Beyond the Law Lockjaw Rise of the Kulev Serpent and Fast and Fierce Death Race.
